The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of TURNING POINT CHURCH’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our board of directors is TURNING POINT CHURCH’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

We believe the Bible both old and new testaments to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (II Tim. 3:16, 17)

We believe in the triune Godhead as eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (II Cor. 13:14)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal, Only Begotten Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (Matt.1:23, 1 John 4:9)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death and the shedding of His blood on the cross. (Gal 3:13, Rev 5:9)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God. (Acts 2:34, Heb. 12:2)

We believe that Healing and Deliverance from sickness are provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers. (II Tim. 3:16, Rom. 3:25, 26)

We believe in evangelistic and missionary fervor and endeavor. (Acts 1:8, Mark 16:15-18)

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We further believe in the keeping power of God. (Heb. 9:22, Jude 24, 25)

We believe in sanctification and holiness of heart and the overcoming life as God’s design for the Church, which is the Bride of Christ. (Eph. 5:25-27)

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. (John 16:8)

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the divine Teacher who assists believers to understand and appropriate the Scriptures. (John 14:26)

We believe that the Holy Spirit is instrumental in the bestowal of spiritual gifts to every believer. (Eph. 4:8, 1 Cor. 12:4)

We believe firmly in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and the personal experience of the infilling of His power with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6, Eph. 4:11; I Cor. 12:8-11; Gal. 5:22,23)

We believe that divine healing is obtained on the basis of the Atonement. (I Pet. 2:24; Matt. 8-17)

We believe in Christ’s imminent personal return in power and great glory, and in His present and everlasting dominion. (Acts 1:8; Rev. 1:7; Dan. 7:14)

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal punishment. (John 5:28, 29; Rev. 20:15)

We believe that the ordinances of baptism by immersion in water and observance of the Lord’s Supper should be regularly practiced in the local assembly. (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; I Cor. 11:23-26)

We believe that tithing, accompanied by free-will offerings, is God’s ordained method to finance the spreading of the Gospel and the needs of the local assembly. (Heb. 10:25; 2 Cor. 8,9; 1 Pet. 4:10, Mal. 3:8-12)

We believe that sexual purity is a necessary expression for all of God’s children and requires abstinence from adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality or other sexual relationships or practices forbidden in Scripture. (Heb. 13:4; I Cor. 6:18; Lev. 18:1-30)

We believe that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime and a sacred institution established by God. (Matt. 19:4-6)

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. (Gen. 1:26, Rom. 3:23)

We believe that we should demonstrate love for others, not only toward fellow believers, but also toward those who are not believers. (John 13:34-35, Rom. 13:8, Matt. 5:44)

We believe that God has ordained the family, which consists of husband and wife, as the foundational institution of human society. (Gen. 1:27, Eph. 5:31)

We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as set forth in the scriptures as not to bring reproach upon their Savior or the Church. (2 Peter 2:11, Eph. 1:4, Romans 6:6)

We believe that the local church is a part of the Body and the espoused Bride of Christ and is solely made up of born-again and Holy Ghost-filled persons. (Eph. 1:22, Eph. 5:23-24, Col. 1:18)

We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures. (Col. 2:10, Matt. 16:18, Rev. 3:

We believe in the autonomy (self-government) of the local church, free of any external authority or control. (Heb. 13:7, Heb. 13:17, 1 Tim. 3:5, Col. 3:15)

We believe in the unity and servant hood of the Local Church expressed through the example of Christ. (John 15:15, Mark 9:35)

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps 139.)

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. (Gen 1:26-27.)

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen 2:18-25.) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4.) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor 6:9-10.)

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of TURNING POINT CHURCH as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the TURNING POINT CHURCH members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by TURNING POINT CHURCH in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thess 5:22.)

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11.)

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of TURNING POINT CHURCH. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31.)

We believe that it is the duty and privilege of every believer to support the local assembly with his regular presence, giving of tithes and offerings and service. (Heb. 10:27, Mal. 3:10)
